Flea, tick and worm subscription

Products containing Fipronil will start to kick in within a few hours of application, but require time to spread over the surface of your pet’s skin. This means fleas will be killed within 24 hours of coming in contact with a treated pet.

If you have an active flea outbreak, it's vital that you treat the entire flea life cycle to eliminate the infestation. This includes washing pet bedding and any removable covers in your home on a hot wash, and thoroughly cleaning any areas the pet visits in the home and car. You may also need to treat your home (not your pet) with an environmental spray to address an active infestation.

Our flea, tick and worm subscription plan is categorised as a routine treatment, so you won’t be able to claim for it under your pet insurance policy.

You’ll receive your flea, tick and worm treatment monthly, while the frequency of your worming treatment will depend on your pet's age. For pets under six months, the worming treatment is delivered every month, and every three months for pets over six months.

We aim to prepare your box within 7 days of receiving payment, and you'll receive a dispatch email once it's ready to be sent. Please allow up to 14 days for delivery following the dispatch email.

We make sure your pet gets the right treatment dose based on their personal details.

Make sure you check your pet's weight regularly and update it in Manage my plan (if it has changed) so that we can ensure they always get the right amount of medication.

Simply apply the spot-on formula to the back of your pet's neck once per month for flea and tick protection. Remember to first part the fur and apply where your pet cannot groom or lick the application

You could wrap the worming tablet in your pet’s favourite food or hide it in their dinner. Your worming tablets will be sent when your pet needs them, which will depend on their age.

If your pet has an adverse reaction to the flea and tick treatment, you can use a wet cloth to wipe the site of application to dilute and remove some of it. If necessary, you can also seek advice from a vet. As a ManyPets insurance customer you have access to unlimited, 24/7 online vet advice.

If your pet is sick or has diarrhoea after taking the wormer, and you suspect they are having an adverse reaction, you should also contact your vet or use the virtual vet service.

Adverse reactions to flea, tick and worming medications are uncommon but can occur. You should report any adverse reactions to the Veterinary Medicines Directorate.

The most common side effect from licking a Fipronil-based spot-on treatment that hasn’t dried is excessive salivation due to the product’s bitter taste. Some pets may also become nauseous or vomit.

Offer your pet water to rinse the solution out of their mouth. Giving them a treat can also help remove the taste in cases of salivation.
