What is seen as a pre-existing condition?

Last updated 2 years ago - 1 min read

This is any illness or injury that shows signs or symptoms and/or receives treatment, medication, advice in the last 24 months or during the 14 day waiting period.

Treatment - e.g an operation before the policy started.

Medication -  e.g ongoing medication or recent medication is given before policy has started.

Advice - e.g any information received and noted on your vet records for your pet.

Signs or symptoms - e.g. your pet is displaying signs of illness before the policy started.

Once a condition has been 24 months free of the above, we class it once again as a 'new' condition and can look to cover it alongside other new conditions in the future.

If your pet's condition hasn't reached 24 months free of treatment, medication or advice we may still be able to help.
