We love Brighton's bar and pub scene, and it's one of the reasons why it's such a popular holiday spot. Yes, the scenery is stunning. Yes, the beach is good. But have you ever had a few pints with a local? That's where the fun is.

The city has rightfully received plaudits for its cocktail bars, and for good reason: there are loads to nestle in. But how many are dog-friendly?

Whether you've spent a hot afternoon on the beach or lost yourself in Brighton's Lanes, we're here to help. Here, we list our five favourite dog-friendly pubs and bars in Brighton.

Twisted Lime

Most of the time, the only dog-friendly places to drink are pubs, but Brighton's a little different: it has dog-friendly bars, too! The city is full of cocktail bars to pick from, but Twisted Lime is our favourite.

With a welcoming atmosphere, bold, bright interiors and staff that love dogs, it's a quirky escape from Brighton's hustle and bustle. The menu has all the classics with a few outside-the-box choices.

Happy hour is Sunday until Friday, 5-10pm by the way. Just so you know.

The Ginger Pig

We're not the only fans of this Brighton hotspot: GQ named it as one of their top 10 pubs in the UK.

It might not look too special on the surface, but this is traditional pub perfection. The menu is regularly updated with seasonal, fresh dishes and new twists on the usual "pub grub".

There's a dog-friendly part of the bar, so make sure you let them know when you book. It's a fantastic place to have some food, drink and conversation while you take it all in.

There's nothing wrong with doing the basic things right, and Lion & Lobster does just that. You'll find this cosy, historic pub between Brighton and Hove, and locals love it for its charming interiors, friendly staff and tucked-away roof terrace.

To make matters better, it loves welcoming in dogs, meaning both you and your pup can take in an ice-cold pint, a hearty meal and soak in some of its atmosphere.

It's our choice if you're in the area and you want a pub that feels traditional.

If you're wandering through Brighton's famous Lanes, we recommend making a quick pit-stop at The Walrus: an eclectic pub with a cocktail bar, a leafy rooftop garden bar and a top-tier array of pub grub.

It's not just a tourist spot; it's full of local spirit, with a warm atmosphere that invites you to sit in and enjoy a pint, some wine, coffee or whatever you fancy.

The pub has dog-friendly areas, so you can sit back, relax and unwind with your pup in tow.

This dapper lounge bar in the middle of Brighton's Lanes offers a multi-level splash of style and sophistication. Each floor has its own unique feel, and we highly recommend Flipside: its 70s-themed cocktail bar.

It's a place where you'll feel comfortable catching up with a friend, chatting to strangers or just watching the world go by. And the best thing? The pub is dog-friendly, so you know they're a good bunch.

If you're looking for a colourful pub with a unique atmosphere, this is our pick.
