Manchester's rich industrial history has been matched by its bouncing nightlife and pub scene. It's a real hub of exciting nighttime events and prides itself on providing some top-tier boozers.

From student-filled gastropubs to old, beer-stained taverns, there are plenty of Mancunian haunts to pick from. We've narrowed down our five favourite dog-friendly pubs in Manchester to help you and your dog quench your thirst.

The Didsbury

This homely, comfy pub sits in Didsbury: a leafy south-Manchester suburb surrounded by parkland and walks. It's a dream for outdoorsy pups.

After all that walking, you'll of course want a bite to eat and something to drink, which is where The Didsbury comes in. It serves the usual pub fare to high quality, with a wide selection of ales, beers and wines; the warm welcome you and your pup will get is the foam on top.

The Sunday roast gets rave reviews, and yes, your dog is very much welcome to lean into its comfy interior or fresh beer garden with you.

Is craft beer more your thing? Well, Manchester's the place for you, and Seven Bro7hers is our pick of the bunch.

There are a few of these breweries around, but we recommend the Ancoats venue. It's a warm, inviting space to grab a few IPAs.

Comfy, spacious and the dog-obsessed staff make it a recommended stop-off point for refreshments. The three happy hours a week help, too - Monday to Thursday, 4pm - 7pm. Cheers!

We promise Brewdog doesn't keep making these lists because of the name and the logo - they're genuinely just so consistent and dog-friendly.

The Manchester-based DogHouse gets a special mention: it's got a bar, a stunning rooftop terrace and even a dog-friendly hotel. Combined with its 30 draft beers, cocktails, curated wine list and lip-smacking food, it's a fine choice.

Of course, they love to host dogs too, and they'll even offer your dog some water and a treat. Woof.
