There's so much to see and do as you wander through Nottingham's historic streets and corners that you'll naturally want to stop for a bite to eat at some point.
There are plenty of dog-friendly spots in this bustling student town, so we've narrowed it down to our top five dog-friendly restaurants. Whether it's brunch or dinner, the restaurants below will treat your dog like the special guests they are.
1. No.Twelve
This plant-based, city-centre eatery is award-winning for a few reasons: superb food, varied options and a nine-course (yes, nine) tasting menu are all big factors.
They offer a classic a la carte menu and The Telegraph named them as "one of the best plant-based restaurants in the UK".
This is the place for you if you want shockingly good food with a plant-based, sustainable twist. Dogs being welcome is the cherry on top.
Just let them know when you book if you'd like to bring your dog, and they'll make sure to find a suitable table.
2. Bill's
Bill's knows how to pick a location, and Nottingham's historic bank building is one of the chain's best spots.
Dogs are welcome, but they'll need to relax on the floor. Staff will bring out a water bowl, and they love to make a fuss of any pups that walk through their doors. Dogs must stay on the lead, though.
Propped up with a seasonal menu with surprising choices and healthier options, you and your pup will end up leaving satisfied. Plus, the set menu is a good choice if you want something a bit more budget.
3. Portello Lounge
With a broad, tasty menu and a real love of dogs, Portello Lounge is an ideal choice near the leafy Bridgford Park area. It's a comfy, warm space that you can feel relaxed in, and the staff's love of dogs will make you and your pup feel welcome.
Reviews highlight the spot's dog-friendly attitude but they also focus on the food, particularly the all-day brunch. There's lots to choose from on the menu, from warming shakshuka to invigorating Buddha bowls.
You can ask for water for your dog, plus we recommend the outdoor seating if weather permits - it's a nice spot for you and your dog to watch Nottingham go by.
4. Cosy Club
Nottingham is home to a lot, but did you know it's home to the biggest Cosy Club in the UK?
Okay, it's not that exciting of a fact, but it gives us a chance to recommend this warm, hearty dog-friendly venue. Dogs are only allowed in the bar area, but it's a nice space, and you can still sample their seemingly endless menu.
The quirky interiors make this chain stand out, but the wide menu is bound to have something for everyone, and their outlandish drinks selection is sure to delight.
5. Coco Tang
You can never go wrong with Vietnamese food, but Coco Tang really stands out. The food has received rave reviews, especially the sharing platters, and there's a bar for some lip-smacking cocktails too.
It's a nice spot for a quick break, mostly thanks to the venue's amazing coffee and cake.
The whole place is made better with its gorgeous outdoor space and vibrant interiors. It has a very relaxed vibe, which is reflected in its dog-friendly attitude and unmissable food.
